Nuria Castán closes the season 2016/17, with a bittersweet flavor, there have been very good moments as the two podiums, where she was in first place, in the competitions of 2* New Zealand (Mt. Olympus) and Les Arcs (France) and of course, his first podium with 19 years in a competition of 4* in Hochfuguen (Austria) where she obtained the 3rd position.
On the other hand there have been times not as good as the disappointment of Jasna (Slovakia), was a competition of 4*, where having the podium practically guaranteed made two mistakes of beginner by making two “Buttcheks” in the high zone of the descent, they relegated to the sixth position and, especially, the podium that she lost in Obergurgl (4 * competition) where once given the results and having the third position, the judges had to leave it in 7th position to have seen in the later filming Who had made a small stretch of descent down a canal that was forbidden due to its danger and snow conditions.
If these two results had given her final position in the ranking would have been much higher, despite these in her first season in the Freeride World Qualifier managed to reach the Top 10 of the ranking and this season has managed to reach the 7th Position in the FWQ Ranking.
The evaluation of the season is in general positive, there is an evolution in the riding of Nuria Castán, a greater ease and above all safety in the execution and landings of medium / large jumps, an obvious improvement in the choice of descent lines as aggressive and vertical as possible, she has begun to train Backflips getting a high accuracy of correct execution and reception and in Jam Extrem Arcalís, 3* contest of the FWQ, tried in competition but in the end the trick did not I can do it correctly, being the first Rider of the circuit that tries it in an official competition.
Now, once the snow season in Arcalís (Vallnord) in Andorra is over, there is the continuation of the physical preparation in gymnasium facing the next season 2017/18.
