Nuria Castán, Völkl Snowboard Rider International team, She has managed to climb to the top of the podium in his first contest of 3 * in the Freeride World Qualifier in Montafon (Austria). Nuria Castán continues to break records; she’s the first rider in 18 years and a few months and comes from the Junior category (Freeride Junior Tour) who wins a contest of 3 * in the FWQ in her first season, and she has participated in 4 contest and obtained with this first position, three podiums this season (two Seconds and one First).

As regards competition, on Friday could carry out an inspection of the face, along with Marc Grajera, her coach this season, the snow conditions, weather and the same face of the mountain were in perfect condition, snow was not hard and in the venue was not traced and also the previous nights had snowed about 40 cm of snow powder,   all the conditions for a spectacular day competition were given.

Nuria Castán, started with the bib number 12 and was the penultimate of the Riders of her category of snowboard, the day was fantastic with glorious sunshine and no wind. The Castan’s contest was very fast and with great verticality and quickly decided on a shorter line than competitors but much more difficult, in the middle section chose and a close and very difficult couloir that none of the Riders of snowboard had chosen to make its descent, this choice of a couloir with a lot of technical difficulty with control and fluidity in the downhill earned him a score of 68 points out of 100, gaining 6 points ahead of the next rider, which ultimately she earned him first place in his first contest in a 3* Circuit FWQ.

With this result, Castán recovers again the 7th position in the world ranking FWQ, waiting for the upcoming competitions in March that will by closed the season 2016, which was her first appearance in the top category of world Freeride , FWQ.

The next competition will be in Nendaz (Switzerland), contest of 4*, on Saturday March 12, where shee will compete with all participants of the professional circuit Freeride (Freeride World Tour).
